The great Basilica of the Saint Anthony is just a few meters from the large square of Prato della Valle and houses the tomb of St. Anthony. It welcomes pilgrims with its artistic treasures (to name a few: the large statue of Gattamelata by Donatello in the churchyard, the bronzes by Donatello on the High Altar and the fourteenth-century frescoes by Altichiero in the Chapel of San Giacomo). Every year it is visited by many devotees who offer their prayers to the Saint touching his tomb with their hands.

The sanctuary of Sant'Antonino all'Arcella is another frequent pilgrimage destination for the devotees of the Saint. It houses the place where Saint Anthony died on the way from Camposampiero to Padua. In Camposampiero stands the Sanctuary of the Walnut in memory of the preaching practiced by the saint to the people of the place.

All three of these churches and basilicas are particularly visited in June, on the occasion of the numerous initiatives that accompany the feast of June 13th dedicated to the Saint.

Another Shrine located near Prato della Valle is that of Father Leopoldo Mandić, the Saint of Reconciliation and Spiritual Ecumenism, known throughout the world for his life of humility and silent apostolate. Every year many faithful visit the confessional and the tomb of the Saint and choose this place for their prayer, devotion and celebration of Penance.

The patron saint of Padua - San Prosdocimo - has his tomb in the great The Basilica of Santa Giustina, located right on one side of the large square of Prato della Valle. This Basilica is still one of the largest buildings in the world. Inside, there are numerous famous works by Paolo Veronese, Sebastiano Ricci and the Corbarelli family and - in addition to San Prosdocimo - the relics of the Santi Innocenti, of San Luca Evangelista, San Mattia Apostolo, Santa Felicita, San Giuliano, Sant'Urio, blessed Arnaldo da Limena, San Massimo and the titular saint, Giustina are venerated.
